Abstract of Presentation/Publication
In addition to utilizing various forms of direct
financing, biotechnology companies can accelerate their
growth and increase their value through different types of
partnering efforts as well as through mergers and
acquisitions. The latter types of transactions also serve as
potential exit strategies for investors in biotech
enterprises. In contemplating any type of business
development transaction biotech companies should develop a
specific strategy. A number of factors need to be considered
as well as the general financing environment surrounding the
transaction. These strategic issues will be discussed in
further detail.
