Abstract of Presentation/Publication
A US biotech company is usually funded from US government
and US private equity sources. Less known are the means of
financing from overseas investors. In his presentation, Mr.
Lewis will discuss in detail three aspects of international
financing available to local biotechs: Pure equity,
Strategic Alliances, and Combination Financing. He will
detail specific sources and conditions of financing typical
of investors in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and
Singapore. Names of potential investors will be given and
suggestions on making contact with them will be offered. US
biotech executives should consider financing from overseas
investors as a component of their overall funding
strategy.
