  Angel Investors

Angel Investors - Introduction

Raising money for early stage life science companies is difficult.  This difficulty stems from many factors including the complexity of the science/technology, the length of time it takes to develop a product, the regulatory hurdles, the reimbursement hurdles and the market itself.

Life Science entrepreneurs will raise money from many sources some of which include savings, spouse's income, home loans, friends and family, grants, sales of products and services, strategic partnerships, angels and venture capitalists.

Increasingly angels are becoming a more important part of this "financing mix".  Since 2003,  this has happened because Venture Capitalists have shifted their focus toward companies that are closer to a "liquidity event".

BMI's role in this current financing environment is very straightforward.  We are and will continue to look for creative ways to get Life Science start-ups and potential angels "together" through events, meetings, and this web site.  This stategy is consistent with BMI's historical approach which focuses on events, networking, and management education.

With this in mind BMI invites angels and potential angels to attend BMI events.  Meeting entrepreneurs in person is one of the best way to start the investment decison making process.
